Ultimate goal

(Assuming of course that SF-88 will never radiate radar pulses and never launch a Hercules.)
Bud Halsey reminds me that
Your "dream", that we are working toward, is good,
but for historical accuracy we are limited to only showing how the system worked with a mimimum of IFC stuff..

We are a launching site, and it has been a struggle to get what ever vans and radar we have because, it is historically inaccurate for that stuff to be physically at a launch site. As you know, that stuff should be at the IFC site on the hill, but establishing a working IFC is a long way off,

Never say never,

but you have to be patient working with the NPS bureaucracy!

Which I interpret as
  1. Ultimately, the goal for historical correctness is to get the IFC up on Wolf Ridge. :-))
(I wonder if there will ever be enough money available to rebuild and maintain that road, assuming permissions would be granted to disturb the increasingly natural setting.
    Off the wall guesses
    - Rebuild with gates, guard rails, .......... One million dollars
    - Maintain, resurface fund, general repair. Twenty thousand dollars annually.)
Selling this program is far beyond my limited imagination.

  2. But in the meantime, let's do what we can to
    - gather,
    - restore,
    - display
the technology and social environment of the time. :-)
