ARMY NATIONAL GUARD NIKE UNIT FULLTIME WORK FORCE

A Note on ARNG technicians. Technicians are ARNG fulltime state employees paid on pay scales equivalent to Federal government civilian workers. However technician positions more or less match almost one-to-one with military positions in the unit organization and technicians had to be members of the Guard unit and wear their uniforms as part of their job. There were fulltime technician position which corrolated with the Nike battalion commander, battalion operations officer, battery commander, launcher and IF platoon leaders and launcher section chiefs. In other words, almost all the key positions were fulltime.
